Technological partner AIC has signed a contract with leading European manufacturer Ovako AB for hot rolling mill revamping at its facility in Hällefors (Örebro, Sweden). Steel Rolling
The contract was signed in partnership with Pomini Long Rolling Mills.
The contracted scope of supply includes electrical and automation equipment with new power control panels based on ABB ACS800 standards for Stands 4-7 and Pendulum Shear. The modernization project will also add main and auxiliary drives panels for mill and coil handling area, and new main ABB's AC motors, stated a press release published by AIC.
Ovako AB is a European manufacturer of engineering steel for customers in the bearing, transportation and manufacturing industries. Since 2018, Ovako has been owned by Nippon Steel Corporation, with production being based on recycled scrap and including steel in the form of bar, tube, ring and pre-components.
